Welcome to the GoSustainable Blog. While most of our resources are dedicated to facilitating our programs and projects in the field, we hope to occasionally use the blog to discuss important issues taking place within the fields of agriculture, international development, and sustainable foods. That being said, we’d like to take a moment to introduce who we are and what we do.

About GoSustainable
GoSustainable was founded in 2007 with a mission to facilitate trade relationships between small businesses, entrepreneurs, and farmers worldwide. As part of this mission we have created a labeling and certification program for crops grown with sustainable and organic methods throughout the developing world. Our initial efforts are concentrated on West Africa, specifically the sub-saharan country of Senegal. While we fully support and endorse the efforts of the organizations behind the Fair Trade certification, as well as the countless organic certifications found world-wide, GoSustainable is uniquely focused on serving those farmers who don’t have the resources necessary to apply the methods required for the organic or sustainable agricultural certifications so popular in the western world. The Global Farm Program is our answer. Its certification standards are designed to be translatable into virtually any language in the world, and comprehensible by individuals with little to no formal education.

Our Team
Whitney Brim-DeForest serves as the Executive Director of GoSustainable. Our all volunteer board and staff are based throughout the world. We encourage you to learn more about our team and our mission.
